Our Experiences run everyday when we are open, they just need to be booked in advance.
WHEEL EXPERIENCES
CLASS TIMES:
10-11am, 11.30-12.30pm or 1.30-2.30pm
Come & have some fun throwing pots. An Individual session lasts around an hour. You get a ball of clay and are guided through the basic steps to make a pot. Once you have done your first pot with assistance, you then get a second ball of clay and some time to practice on the wheel yourself.
After Your session your pots are taken home to air dry, they can then be painted with acrylics.
OR you may decide you want to have them fired £3 per pot.You then have the option of returning to glaze them 3 weeks later, £15pp.
CLASS TIMES:
10-12midday or 1.30-3.30pm
In this 2 hour class there is plenty of hands on support, verbal prompts and time to practice by yourself.
We start by showing you with assistance how centre and pull a pot - you then have time to practice alone before we explore adding shape and volume.
You have 4-5 balls of clay during the session, the aim is about practicing the skills apose to completing lots of finished pots.
After Your session your pots are taken home to air dry, they can then be painted with acrylics.
OR you may decide you want to have them fired £3 per pot. You then have the option of returning to the studio for a glazing session 3 weeks later, 2hrs £15pp.
CLASS TIMES:
10-1pm
It is advised that you have previously done either the 1 or 2hr session before attending this class.
In this 3 hour class we work slowly through the various steps, giving feedback along the way. There is plenty of hands on support, verbal prompts and time to practice by yourself during the session.
We start by showing you with assistance how centre and pull a cylinder - you then have time to practice alone before we explore adding shape and volume. You then spend the remaining time practising the steps & techniques.
You have 6-7 balls of clay during the session, the aim is about practicing the skills apose to completing lots of finished pots.
After Your session your pots are taken home to air dry, they can then be painted with acrylics.
OR you may decide you want them fired £3 per pot. You then have the option to return to the studio for a glazing session, 2hrs £15pp.
CLASS TIMES:
10-12pm or 1.30-3.30pm
This combines the 1 hour wheel class with an extra hour & some more clay to add surface decoration to your creations.
You may want to add handles to make a cup or jug, or you may wish to change & alter the shape of your thrown pots. We have lots of cutters & stamps that can be used to make your pot personal & unique.
After the session you can take home your creations to air dry & paint with acrylics
OR
you may have them fired £3 per pot. You then have the option to return to glaze them 3 weeks later, £15 pp.
OUR HALF DAY EXPERIENCE £50pp (14 years +)
10am-1pm
The Half Day Pottery Experience is a great fun introduction to clay, and lasts 3 hours.
The session starts by rolling your sleeves up & throwing some pots on the wheel, this is followed by a few hours of handbuilding, using the traditional coiling method.
You will have a choice of item you want to make from our studio examples. We then demonstrate & show you the basic steps of how to mould, shape & assemble your clay. You will be able to add texture and surface decorations to your piece.
Help is on hand by our friendly team through out the session, along with a tea or Coffee mid session.
Bisque firing is included in the session fee, your creations can then be painted with acrylics
OR
If you wish you can return to glaze your creations in the studio at a later date at a cost of £15pp per session.
OUR FULL DAY EXPERIENCE £75pp (14 years +)
10-3pm
This fabulous fun filled day explores lots of elements of pottery making.

You will have a choice of item you want to make from our studio examples. We then demonstrate & show you the basic steps of how to mould, shape & assemble your clay. You will be able to add texture and surface decorations to your piece.
Having made our creations in the morning the afternoon is spent relaxing painting an item of pottery.
We usually have cups, plates & spoon rests to choose from.
Time permitting you can even try your hand at silkscreens, stamping or bubble glazing techniques. Its a lovely way to bring the day to an end.
Glaze firing of your painted item, along with Bisque firing of your clay creations is included in the session fee. They will be ready for collection 3 weeks later.
Creations can then be painted with acrylics at home OR if you wish you can book in to glaze your creations in the studio, at a cost of £15pp.
