A great introduction to the fabulous world of clay, suitable for beginners

Sessions Run:

Thurs, Fri & Sat 10.15am - 3.30pm.

The day starts by showing you with assistance how centre and pull a pot on the potters wheel - you then get a second ball of clay and have time to practice by yourself. There is plenty of hands on support & verbal prompts throughout.

We aim for 2-3 pots

You'll then move over to the workbench to add surface decorations to your creations.

You may want to add handles to make a cup or jug, or you may wish to change & alter the shape of your thrown & handmade pots. We have lots of cutters, moulds & stamps that can be used to make your pot personal & unique.

We break for lunch around 12.45-1.45pm

The afternoon is spent relaxing with some glazing. You'll glaze a mug using coloured underglazes.

INFO:

We provide aprons, Dress in comfy clothes, you will be squatting around a wheel so it's best not to wear skirts/dresses :)

Short nails make it easier to throw.

Materials & firing is included in the session fee, ready for collection 3 weeks later.

Your pots can then be painted at home with acrylics OR You may wish to return to the studio to glaze them £15

Please inform us at the time of booking if you have hip or mobility issues as some of our wheels will not be suitable for you.
